| Yukon | Border Collie/ lab | Male | On 2 Week Trial Adoption | |
| Yukon and his sister Olivia are wonderful pups who cme into the shelter together and live together at the shelter. They are fairly small dogs that have border collie predominantly with some black lab and possibly terrier. Both are well behaved, loving, and love other animals. As they are still pups of 7 months or so, they still need training and someone who will spend the time with them that they need. They may have a tendency to dig in the yard and will need to have that behavior worked upon. They are ready to go to a new home, either together or separate. | ||||
| Tracker | White German Shepherd | Male | On 2 Week Trial Adoption | |
| Tracker is a beautiful White German Shepherd boy who has papers and personality both. He is 8 months old, and really needs a new human companion who will work with him on training. He has had an unfortunate first few months, on a chain all the time, never in the house, and not allowed to do the puppy things like playing with other dogs. He is a real surprize though, in that he likes other dogs, is learning to walk on a leash, and loves human companionship. He is very eager to learn and please someone. A great and beautiful dog! Call 406-827-8722 if intrested in him | ||||
| Summit | Golden Retriever | Male | On 2 Week Trial Adoption | |
| Summit is a 4 year old golden retriever puppy. And he truly has that puppy attitude. He is fun loving, water loving, people loving, kid loving, and etc. He is a really good dog with a bit of bad luck in his past. He was adopted from his previous owner who did not have time for him through our shelter. His new owner loves him and speaks accolades of him. However, she has allergy attacks due to his dander and must give him up again. So he is back in the market looking for a new owner who can really give him the home that he deserves. By no fault of his own, he is homeless again. Unbelievable. He is now groomed and trimmed down for the summer and looks a bit like a golden lab instead of a retriever. So the pictures don't quite do him justice. Please call if you are interested. 406-827-8722. | ||||
| Spook | Husky/malamute | Male | Adoptable | |
| Spook is a beautiful husky or malamute male of about 1.5 years of age. He came into the shelter from a guy who was moving and could not take him. It was said to us that he was a non biter. However, the change of environment and all the people that he did not know or trust changed that. He is gettinh better now and does accept care, walking, treats and etc from several people. He still does not like strangers to him and takes a while to adapt and become all right. He will be adoptable into an adult home with people who have some patience to work with him and let him build confidence. He will have to be monitored closely around children, guests and strangers. He walks well on a leash, but would really enjoy having a fenced yard to run in. Please call if you may have an interest. 827-8722. | ||||
| Lucey | Pointer mix | Female | Adopted | |
| Lucey came into the shelter as a homeless mother with 9 2 week old pups. She was a great mom and very protective of her pups. She fed them all well and they are all fat and happy and well adjusted now. Lucey has now weaned all of them and they are being adopted. She is ready now to find a great new home as well. She is a very loving and affectionate girl, spayed and up to date on vaccines. She is house trained, walks well on a leash. She will make someone a gret pet. | ||||
| Little Girl | Dachshund | Female | Adoptable | |
| Little girl and her brother are 6 month old dachshunds who need a forever home that will spend some time with them. They are very loving, but fairly shy at this point. They are very teachable, and are already learning that humans are pretty good to have around and good to sit on the laps of. They do need some work on potty training, as that part of their early training has been incomplete. They are not biters, and they just need the TLC that youngsters need at their tender young age. Both are black and tan with longer hair. Little girl has long hair that is a bit straighter than her brother's, which we understand may be from the fathers genetic heritage of being a purebred long haired dachshund. Mom has a bit of something else in her, but also looks purebred. Little girl is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and learning to walk on a leash. She will likely be Mom's weight of 18-24 pounds. | ||||

These pups were weaned at six weeks from their mother and have had the benefit of being with their family all of the time. They are very well adjusted, love humans and other animals. | Junior and his sister are 6 month old dachshunds who need a forever home that will spend some time with them. They are very loving, but fairly shy at this point. They are very teachable, and are already learning that humans are pretty good to have around and good to sit on the laps of. Both parents look like purebreds, and we know that the dad is purebred. Mom has a bit of something else in her, but also looks purebred. Junior is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and learning to walk on a leash. He will likely be Mom's weight of 24 pounds. | ||||
| Jaydee | Chow mix with Corgi | Male | Adoptable | |
| This unique guy will just tickle you and your family. He looks like a Chow, but has the body of a Corgi. And his face is so cute! He is low to the ground, has the Chow black tongue, gold coloration, and a fuzzy face and bottom! What a cutie. He is good on a leash, loves people, likes being around other dogs, and is comfortable outside. He has been an outside dog at his previous situation, so house training would have to be completed. He is smart and very willing to please. And he was named JD after John Deere. If you would like to see him, call 827-8722 for an appt. | ||||
| Hunter | Walker Hound and spaniel | Male | Adoptable | |
| Hunter is a very lovable ~2 year young guy who is possibly hound and spaniel mixture. He is very house trained and has lived in a house for the last year, sleeping indoors and spending all his time with a family. He is not much of a hunter, so he is actually mis-named! He is very good with kids and adults and other dogs, but not with cats. He needs to have a home where there are no cats to "bug" him. He is a 1 neutered male and is up to date with vaccines. | ||||
| Gentle Ben | Newfoundland and Border Collie | Male | Adoptable | |
| Gentle Ben is a big sweet dog and we think he is Newfoundland and Border Collie. He has the fur of a Newfie and the size. However his head and feet would lindicate that he has Border Collie or something else similar in him. He was a stray guy who wandered onto the property of a friend of the shelter. They took care of him, but need to find him another home at this point. He is likely 5-7 years old and very gentle. He does like to wander off, however, so would likely do very well with a fenced yard. He would really like to hav a home with a family or older couple who would just like a big gentle dog hanging around and loving to be petted. Please call the shelter at 406-827-8722 if you may have a loving home for him. Senior discount will apply to this boy. | ||||
| Foxy | White german shepherd mix | Female | Adoptable | |
| Foxy has had an unfortunate life and needs to find a stable and loving home that will not fail her. She came into the shelter as a pup of a few months old. she was adopted by a female couple who brought her back in 2 months and oh, she had changed. She went from a loving but shy pup to a frightened and sorrowful older pup who did not trust anyone. She was then adopted by a loving couple who wanted to fill their lives with wonderful dogs. Then they became ill. She is back looking for a wonderful home that will not go away. We will be very cautious with this next adoption. She will not go to any tenuous circumstances. She deserves better. She is beautiful, kind, and very shy. She is cautious around other dogs. She doesn't trust much of anything right now. If you are stable and want a needy companion, this is the dog. Please call us at 827-3098 for further information. | ||||
| Diamond | Labrador / Am Staff terrier | Female | On 2 Week Trial Adoption | |
| Diamond is a real beauty. She is a 3.5-4 month old puppy who has been passed around a bit and sure would like a forever home. She looks like she will be the size of a lab, with much prettier coloring. She does not look at all like a staffy, but has the unusual coloring that would indicate that breed is a part of her heritage. She is black on the back with brown neck and legs and white accents. She has a white diamond on her chest, thus her name. She is spayed, vaccinated, and ready for a new home. She loves people, kids, other dogs, and is OK with cats. She is the perfect pet....Call 827-8722 to see her. The pics don't do justice... | ||||
| Crystal | Hound, Walker; possible fox hound | Female | Adoptable | |
| Crystal came to the shelter after being found in Thompson Falls and homeless. We believe she was lost by someone who may have been hunting with her. She has an excellent nose for scents and would likely be a very good hunter. She is also a very friendly and cuddly dog who loves to be petted and spend time with humans. We are trying to find her a home that will allow her to hunt once in awhile but also keep her as a pet and allow her to spend quality time with her family as well. She is a great dog and really wants to please. | ||||
| Cowboy | German Shepherd mix | Male | Adoptable | |
| Cowboy is an adult German shepherd mix that spent his entire life before the shelter on a chain. His only toy was his food bowl, and to this day, he plays constantly with his bowl, barking at it while he uses it as a hockey puck! He is a great guard dog who loves his master and mistress and some other folks, but does not like to have his space compromised by intruders. He would need a fenced in area and would need supervision around strangers. He has the potential to be a great companion for a family and/or a great guard dog. He is leash trained and does not potty in his enclosure or in his kennel. | ||||
| Buddy | Chocolate lab and Aussie shepherd mix | Male | Adopted | |
| Buddy is a beautiful red/brown Chocolate lab and Australiam shepherd mix. He is a young guy of less that a year, and has this beautiful and unusual coat that is tipped in a lighter color, and a natural short tail. He came to the shelter after he was found lying on the highway with frostbitten feet. He went to a foster care home for his treatment for the frostbite and then on to the shelter last week. He is getting better and will have full use of his feet and toes after his full recuperation period is finished. He loves other dogs, loves people and children, tolerates cats. He may like to chase deer however. He is an absolutely lovable and lively guy who would love a human companion that would spend time with him. | ||||
| Bernie | St Bernard / Husky | Male | Adoptable | |
| Bernie has such a sad story, but he is now at the shelter and enjoying his daily food, water, walks, and human companionship. We are guessing on his breed, but he so much looks like a St. Bernard and a husky mix, that is what we are going to call him! He and his german shepherd "brother" were dumped up one of the drainages outside of Thompson Falls. They were scared and would not come to people who saw them, but they did accept food. Then late one Saturday night, Bernie's "brother" was hit and killed on the highway. Bernie sat by his side until the Sheriff arrived to save Bernie from the same fate. Bernie is likely about 3 years old, will be neutered this weekend, and will be up to date on vaccines and adoptable some time around the 22nd of February. He has the personality of a St. Bernard and is just a happy go lucky guy. He has the underfur and curly tail of a husky. He is chocolately brown with a white paw and chest. He is a large dog, but not as large as a St. Bernard, kind of in between the husky size and the St Bernard size. Please consider him...he is a great dog. | ||||
| Bailey | Benji dog | Female | Adoptable | |
| Bailey is a mixed breed dog in that she has terrier, doxy, maltese, and probably other breeds in her as well. She is a fluffy and cute lap dog, if you have a fairly big lap. She is about 35 pounds and loves to be with you. She is friendly, loves kids, loves other dogs, and is pretty adaptable. She does need to have a bit of special attention when there is a change, though. She wants a new home that will give her attention, time, and some great kibble. Maybe a couple of chew toys too. She is about 1.3 years old now and becoming quite the young lady. Give us a call if you are interested. 406-827-8722. | ||||
